Project timetable

A lot of hard work went into securing the funding for the project and the necessary legal consents. We set an ambitious target of opening the centre for 2010, but given the state of the economy there have been inevitable delays.

We are now proud to say that things are under way at last. We already have done a lot of work in the background...but there is an enormous amount still to do!

Spring 2011 Demolition of coffee room and enabling works

Start main construction of building

Completed construction and launch. 

Funding for the project has come from a variety of sources. We have bid for grants towards the costs of the scheme, with £900,000 from Communitybuilders and £500,000 from the Big Lottery Community Buildings Fund and £50,000 from CSEP. Other funding has secured towards the development of the project from has come from ERDF, New Charter Housing Trust amongst others.

Further funding towards the furniture and fittings is being sought from a variety of sources.

We are actively raising funds locally and welcome the community's support.

We have teamed up with a great website called buy.at to help with fundraising for 4 C Community Centre. It offers choice, savings and value for you, raising money for us at the same time. Over 100 retailers are accessible through the webshop, including Tesco, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and Waterstones. Many retailers provide exclusive offers to the webshop, such as discounts or offering free delivery to the customer, providing more reasons for supporters to buy products through the webshop. For example Tesco offer £5 for every new customer who makes a groceries transaction.
